Research Summary</span</strong</p <p&nbsp;</p <p&nbsp;</p <p<span style="font-size:28px;"(Summary of the study of Nousbo Fertilizer 17-7-11 effect on Turf Grass clipping yields in Philippines)</span</p <p&nbsp;</p <p&nbsp;</p <p&nbsp;</p <p&nbsp;</p <p<span style="font-size:20px;"Ultra Turf Green (17-7-11) is a type of NPK slow release fertilizer that contains the macro and micronutrients required for plant growth and development, including MU-type Urea. This fertilizer offers the advantage of reducing labor costs since it only requires a single application. It also provides a more even supply of nitrogen while reducing nitrogen leaching. The analysis of soil sample showed low nitrogen, high phosphorus and deficient potassium. Ultra Turf Green (17-7-11) fertilizer was applied one time at various rates from 0.5 to 2 of the Recommended Rate (RR) (15, 22.5, 30 (RR), 45 and 60 g/m<sup2</sup) and the treatments were evaluated to determine the efficacy on the yield of turf grass clippings. The inorganic fertilizer was applied in two split applications at basal and next application was after 15 days. Conventional fertilizer sources were complete fertilizer 14-14-14 (around 14 bags) and Urea 46-0-0 (around 2 bags). Clipping yields were gathered for eight harvesting periods (greens) in g/m2 then the average yield was calculated. The heaviest weight of clippings collected from turf grass from first to eight harvesting periods was produced from the application of 2х recommended rate (2RR) of Ultra Turf Green (17-7-11) Fertilizer at the rate of 60 g/m<sup2</sup. This result is comparable to the application of 1.5 RR Ultra Turf Green (17-7-11) Fertilizer during the second, third, six and eight observation periods with the rate of 45 g/m<sup2</sup. Therefore, in order to produce the heaviest yield of turf grass clippings, application of Ultra Turf Green (17-7-11) fertilizer at the rates of 45-60 g/m<sup2</sup is recommended. It can be applied once and the effect lasts for three (3) months. Smaller dosage is needed compared to dosage use in conventional fertilizer broadcasting method. It is safe and comprehensive to use. Average number of fruits per plant at the first harvest (90 DAT) was not significant among the treatments but the later harvests (104 DAT and 118 DAT) were significant with T4 (1:2000 Nutri Bubble) and T6 (1:500 Silica and 1:2000 Nutri Bubble) respectively. In the case of Yield, T1 (1:250 Silica Bubble) showed the maximum yield with 748 kg/ha, followed by T6 (1:500 Silica Bubble and 1:2000 Nutri Bubble), T4 (1:2000 Nutri Bubble) and T3 (1:1000 Silica Bubble). It can be concluded that higher rate of Silica Bubble (80g/20liter pump) reveals the highest yield. A very similar trend was observed at 50DAT with T4 plants having the highest observed mean plant height. The number of tillers were virtually the same as well. The number of filled grains vs unfilled grains ratio has been observed to be highest in T4 plants (85.31%:14.69%), followed closely by T3 plants (81.95%:18.05%), and then by T2 plants (73.10%:26.90%) and T1 plants (72.81%:27.19%). In terms of the mean weight per 1,000 grains, T4 plants again took the lead with a mean weight of 28.12g. The harvest yield for all treatments has been severely affected by Typhoon Ambo and heavy rains prior to harvesting. As such, the computed yield was multiplied by 3 times in order to account for the observed harvest loss, basing on an earlier (2 weeks prior to Typhoon Ambo&rsquo;s arrival) harvest data using the same rice variety.
